MMIWG2S March and Cultural Drop Ins

VAHS encourages everyone to participate in the 31st annual Women's Memorial March on Monday, February 14.

Please join us on February 14 at 9:30 AM in the Binesi/Thunderbird Room (449 East Hastings Street, second floor) for a morning smudge with our Elders. At 10:15 AM we will walk to Carnegie Centre together.

For the march, please be prepared for rainy or snowy weather and wear warm and comfortable walking shoes or boots. Bring your hand drum and wear a ribbon skirt if you have them. COVID-19 safety protocols apply; please wear a mask and stay home if you are ill.

Drop In Workshops

Our Elders and Knowledge Keepers are hosting MMIWG2S workshops throughout January and February in the Binesi/Thunderbird Room (449 East Hastings Street, second floor). Details are as follows.

Beaded pins and earrings:
Mondays from 1:00 to 3:30 PM (January 24, 31, February 7, 21, 28)
Tuesdays from 2:00 to 4:00 PM (January 25, February 8, 15, 22, March 1)

Ribbon skirts and masks:
Thursdays from 2:00 to 4:00 PM (January 27, February 3, 10, 17, 24)

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the space is open to a maximum of 11 people at any time and the program may close without notice.
